Affiliate Disclosure
Full transparency on how UnitedAutoParts.com earns revenue and how it affects our recommendations.
The Short Version
UnitedAutoParts.com is a free, independent auto parts comparison platform. We earn money through affiliate links — when you click a link to a retailer on our site and make a purchase, we receive a small commission. You never pay anything extra. The price is identical whether you arrive at the retailer through our link or directly. Affiliate partnerships do not influence which products we recommend.
How Affiliate Links Work
Throughout our buying guides, brand pages, and how-to guides, you will find links to third-party retailers where you can purchase auto parts. These are affiliate links. When you click one, a small tracking cookie is placed on your device by the retailer. If you complete a purchase within the cookie’s active window (which varies by retailer), UnitedAutoParts.com receives a commission from the retailer — not from you.
You can identify affiliate links on our site by their destination — any link that takes you to a product page on Amazon, BuyAutoParts, AutoBarn, NAPA, AutoZone, or another retail partner is an affiliate link. We also include text disclosures at the top of every buying guide.
Affiliate Programs We Participate In
Amazon Associates Program: UnitedAutoParts.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction): We participate in affiliate programs managed through the CJ Affiliate network, including but not limited to BuyAutoParts, AutoBarn, NAPA, and other automotive parts retailers. Commission rates and cookie durations vary by merchant.
ShareASale: We participate in affiliate programs managed through the ShareASale network, including specialty auto parts brands and retailers. Commission rates and cookie durations vary by merchant.
Direct brand partnerships: We may participate in affiliate programs offered directly by auto parts brands and retailers outside of the networks listed above. These partnerships are subject to the same editorial standards as all other affiliate relationships.
What This Means for You
When you use an affiliate link on our site to make a purchase, a small portion of the sale goes to UnitedAutoParts.com. This is how we fund the site — the research, the content, the hosting, and the tools that make everything work. Without affiliate revenue, we could not offer this resource for free.
The commission comes from the retailer’s marketing budget, not from your pocket. The price you pay is the same as if you had navigated to the retailer directly. In many cases, we link to the lowest-price option across multiple retailers, which may actually save you money compared to buying from the first result on a search engine.
What This Does NOT Mean
Affiliate relationships do not determine our product recommendations. We do not accept payment from brands or retailers in exchange for favorable reviews, higher rankings, or inclusion in our buying guides. Our editorial process is independent of our revenue model.
Specifically:
We do not accept paid placements in our buying guides. We do not rank products higher because they offer a higher commission rate. We do not exclude products because they are not part of an affiliate program. We do not modify our ratings, rankings, or recommendations based on affiliate relationships. If a product is our top pick, it’s because our research supports it — not because it pays us the most.
There are products and brands we recommend that offer no affiliate commission at all. We include them because they are the best option for certain vehicles and use cases. Our job is to help you find the right part — if we can earn a commission in the process, great. If not, the recommendation stands on its own merits.
Our Editorial Standards
Every buying guide on UnitedAutoParts.com follows the same process regardless of affiliate relationships:
Fitment verification: We verify part numbers and compatibility for every year, make, and model listed in a guide. If a part doesn’t fit, it doesn’t get recommended — regardless of commission rate.
Multi-source review analysis: We analyze verified buyer reviews, mechanic forum discussions, and real-world feedback before making any recommendation. We look for patterns in quality, durability, fitment accuracy, and value.
OEM comparison: Every aftermarket recommendation is compared against the OEM equivalent on specifications, warranty, and price. We clearly state when OEM is the better choice, even though OEM parts often carry lower or no affiliate commissions.
Multi-retailer pricing: We check pricing across multiple retailers and link to the best available price — not the retailer with the highest commission. If Amazon has the lowest price, we link to Amazon. If BuyAutoParts or NAPA is cheaper, we link there instead.
FTC Compliance
This disclosure is provided in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) guidelines on the use of endorsements and testimonials in advertising (16 CFR Part 255). The FTC requires that affiliate relationships be clearly and conspicuously disclosed to consumers.
In addition to this dedicated disclosure page, we include affiliate disclosures at the top of every buying guide and on any page that contains affiliate links. If you have any questions about our affiliate relationships or editorial practices, please contact us at contact@unitedautoparts.com.
Questions?
If you have any questions about how our affiliate partnerships work, how we choose products to recommend, or anything else about our revenue model, we’re happy to explain. Transparency is a core value — if something isn’t clear, we want to fix that.
